N1 - P1
Jock the Cat and the Pirate Mice
<\/span>£55 per session
Max of 33 pupils

Children learn about the adventures of Jock, our ship’s cat as he saves Glenlee from some troublesome pirate mice. Activities include dressing up, role play and pirate songs. Children will then become mini-rodent inspectors as they take part in a teacher led mouse hunt around the ship and finish in the cargo hold interactive play area. <\/span><\/h2>

N1 - P1
Mermaids and Sea Creatures with Sailor Sally  
<\/span>£65 per session
Max of 33 pupils

 <\/span>Children join a costumed Sailor Sally to hear about her adventures on the high seas and encounters with the creatures that live in them, followed by a chance to make their own mermaid or merman. Activities include storytelling, role play, object handling, songs and crafts. Children will then explore the ship in a teacher led hunt scavenger hunt.<\/span><\/h4>

The Lunch of the Lighthouse Keeper

In this exciting new workshop children join a costumed Mrs Grinling and Hamish the Cat to read \'The Lighthouse Keeper\'s Lunch\' and hear about the life and role of a lighthouse keeper before making either their own seagull puppet or mini lighthouse, or decorate iced sea biscuits to take home with them. Activities include storytelling, role play, object handling and crafts. Children will then explore the ship in a teacher led hunt searching for hidden mice.<\/span><\/h4><\/div>

Sink or Swim- Build a Raft for Jock the Cat
<\/span>£65 per session
Max of 33 pupils

Based on the principles of floating and sinking, children will experiment with different materials to make a boat suitable for Jock the cat. Pupils will then use the facts they have learned to sort materials into floating and sinking groups before using these to construct small rafts or boats for Jock. This workshop will end with a teacher-led mouse hunt around the ship to help Jock find those pesky mice!
 
P2- P3
Pirates Ahoy!

Ahoy mateys! A fun lively session with costumed pirates, including swashbuckling pirate fun, songs and dressing up followed by a hunt around the ship to find Captain Scallywag’s treasure! <\/span><\/h2>\n

*Upgrade any N1-P3 workshop with real treasure to take home (chocolate coins) for only £1 per pupil.*
 
P4 – P6
Titanic: Captain’s Table

Max of 33 pupils
<\/span> 
Pupils train to become a maid or waiter onboard the ‘unsinkable’ Titanic. A costumed maid or waiter will put pupils through their paces as they learn appropriate table manners and Edwardian etiquette. In groups they will design fantasy First Class Menus before attempting to set the Captain’s Table for dinner.
 
P4- P7
Titanic: Shipwrecked!

Pupils become mini-marine archaeologists as they uncover artefacts from the ‘unsinkable’ Titanic in ‘seabed’ sand trays. Using primary and secondary sources, they will have to work in teams to discover the stories of passengers and crew lost at sea. An ideal workshop to complement  ‘The Unsinkable Ship’ topic.
 
P6- P7
Life at sea on Glenlee (Life on a Victorian cargo ship)

Stepping back in time, investigate the lives of those onboard the eventful Tall Ship’s voyage of 1912 by unravelling the contents of personal sea chests.  An exciting object handling session where pupils will discover the lives of apprentices and crew through genuine logbook excerpts and other primary and secondary sources.

All booked workshops include time and space for pupils to have a packed lunch. The lunch area can be pre-booked outwith workshops for £20 (30mins) when availability permits.<\/span><\/p>
