Step Aboard Glenlee – Glasgow’s Historic Tall Ship

Built on the River Clyde in 1896, Glenlee is one of the few remaining sailing ships from an era when hundreds were constructed and launched from these very waters. Lovingly restored, Glenlee’s crew are now ready to welcome you aboard for a hands-on voyage through maritime history.

Highlights of Your Visit:

  • Explore the ship at your own pace with our free Bloomberg Connects digital tour.
  • Step inside the beautifully refurbished Captain’s Cabin and try on costumes in our apprentice dress-up station.
  • Press our “smell me” buttons and experience life at sea with all your senses.
  • Visit the engine room, installed during the Spanish era – feel the floor shake as the engine rumbles to life!
  • Watch rare 1941 footage of the ship under sail in our Galatea Classroom.
  • Head down to the cargo hold and try your hand at loading cargo with our interactive pulley system – it’s trickier than it looks!
  • Watch our crew at work as they maintain and preserve our historic ship.
  • Join our ever-popular Rat Hunt – can you find all 20 cheeky stowaways hidden throughout the ship?
  • Ring the ship’s bell and take the helm – as if you’re steering Glenlee across the high seas!

Feeling peckish after your voyage? Drop anchor at our cosy on-board café for hot drinks, sweet treats, and light bites.
