Unlike conventional museum objects, Glenlee is both a vessel and a museum building, requiring her caretakers to balance the preservation of her physical structure with the demands of public accessibility and engagement. From battling the relentless effects of Scottish weather, to maintaining her historical integrity while meeting modern safety standards, the challenges are as unique as the ship herself. Join us for an exploration of how innovation, expertise, and passion intersect in the ongoing effort to ensure Glenlee remains a vibrant link to our maritime past.

Built on the iconic River Clyde and sailing as a cargo ship, before serving sixty years as a Spanish sail training vessel, Glenlee embarked on a new journey as a museum ship in the 1990s.
