The Tall Ship Glenlee Trust and Clyde Maritime Centre is committed to the Scottish Government’s Fair Work First policy. The organisation is a committed real Living Wage Employer (Scotland) recognising the responsibility to the rewards and conditions of employment as well as the well-being of our staff. We remain committed to improving the work-life balance of all our dedicated staff and to ensure we keep fair work practices at the heart of everything we do.
The Tall Ship Glenlee Trust and Clyde Maritime Centre is committed to advancing the Fair Work First Policy through:
• Effective Voice – by providing channels for effective employee engagement and holding regular 1-to-1 meetings between staff, line-managers and, when appropriate, CMC Directors and Chair of the Trust. This includes encouraging openness, transparency, and tolerance of different opinions.
• Opportunity – The organisation undertakes a fair and transparent recruitment process with all job opportunities advertised both internally by email and externally through digital platforms including website and social media. The organisation invests in training for all its staff, focusing on organisational priorities and individual personal development through both physical and online training opportunities. Staff are encouraged to attend external development opportunities including conferences, seminars and networking events.
• Security – The organisation is committed to paying the Real Living Wage. We offer meaningful work which provides a reliable income.
• Fulfilment– When feasible, we offer flexible working to all employees and seek at all times to work with individuals on their needs to balance work and family life. Staff also are encouraged to participate in social events such as the annual staff team lunch hosted by the organisation.
• Respect – Staff are entitled to be treated with respect at work and have a personal responsibility for ensuring that they treat others the way in which they would expect to be treated. The organisation recognises dignity and respect at work to mean being free to work without experiencing challenging or uncomfortable situations in the workplace.
