Day Six

"09.00 Bright and clear day.

12.00 Noon and we are now at 47° 43'N; 07° 22'W with a long Westerly swell

All in order and progressing steadily.

21.45 There is alarm as loud "bangs" were heard for'd. Investigation revealed that the port cable had caused the winch connection on the windlass, until now seized by much rust, to slightly rotate and release where previously it had been seized. All OK and alarm over.

23.59 hrs and all well. The wind is a Light NE'ly, Force 1/2."
